šŸ”„ Carrying the Flame While Life Is Swinging

šŸ”„ Carrying the Flame While Life Is Swinging

by Cass

Carrying the flame while life is swinging.
Dodging punches.
Holding joy.
Refusing to go cold.

Apparently… the fire still burns
even on the days I’d rather nap. šŸ˜…šŸ”„

This season has reminded me of something important:
Fire isn’t proven when everything is peaceful.
Fire is proven when life keeps throwing hands and you don’t harden your heart.

Some days you’re standing strong.
Other days you’re just standing.
And honestly? Sometimes that’s victory.

When Life Is Swinging, the Temptation Is to Shut Down

Let’s be real.

When pressure stacks up…
when responsibilities pile on…
when emotions feel loud and unprocessed…
when disappointment hits again…

The easiest response is to go cold.

To numb.
To disengage.
To retreat into survival mode.

Not dramatic rebellion .. just quiet withdrawal.

But coldness isn’t strength.
It’s a defense mechanism.

And the enemy doesn’t always try to extinguish fire by attacking it head-on.
Sometimes he just waits for exhaustion to do the work.

ā€œColdness isn’t strength. It’s a defense mechanism.ā€

Fire That Endures Looks Different Than Fire That Performs

We often picture fire as loud.
Explosive.
Visible.
Impressive.

But enduring fire?
That’s a different kind.

Enduring fire looks like:

  • Choosing joy when it would be easier to sulk
  • Staying soft when life gives you every excuse to harden
  • Laughing when nothing feels funny yet
  • Loving people when you’re tired
  • Still believing God is good… even when the day was not

That kind of fire doesn’t shout.
It stays.

ā€œFire that lasts doesn’t always roar … sometimes it simply refuses to go out.ā€

A Real Moment (Because This Is Real Life)

There are days I feel like I’m dodging emotional dodgeballs before noon.
Days where my body wants rest, my mind wants quiet, and my spirit is like,
ā€œOkay Lord… we’re doing this anyway.ā€

And yes … there are days I’d genuinely rather nap than be noble. šŸ˜‚
But somehow… the flame still burns.

Not because I worked it up.
Not because I powered through.
But because God doesn’t remove His fire when we’re tired.

He meets us in it.

Joy Is a Weapon (Even When It’s Low-Energy Joy)

Joy doesn’t always look like dancing on tables.
Sometimes it looks like:

  • a smile you had to choose
  • laughter that surprised you
  • letting yourself enjoy something small without guilt

And choosing joy Ā especially when life is swinging … keeps the fire alive.

Coldness suffocates flame.
Joy feeds it.

Even gentle joy.
Even quiet joy.
Even joy with a side of coffee and a deep sigh. ā˜•šŸ˜Œ

Refusing to Go Cold Is an Act of War

Hear this clearly:

Staying warm-hearted in a hard season is not weakness.
It’s resistance.

It’s saying,
ā€œI will not let disappointment rewrite my nature.ā€
ā€œI will not let pressure rob me of tenderness.ā€
ā€œI will not let exhaustion turn me bitter.ā€

And that refusal?
That’s fire.

ā€œThe enemy isn’t just after your strength …he’s after your softness.ā€

If This Is You Right Now…

If life feels like it’s swinging more than resting…
If you’re tired but still believing…
If your joy feels quieter but not gone…

You’re not failing.
You’re enduring.

And enduring fire is holy.

A Prophetic Release for the Battle-Worn

For the battle-worn…
for the tired…
for the ones who kept showing up even when joy felt quieter…

Hear the invitation of the Lord.

ā€œYou don’t need to prove anything to Me,ā€ He says.
ā€œCome close.ā€

Lay down the armor for a moment.
Not because the battle isn’t real…
but because rest is how I re-stoke your fire.

Your fire is safe in Me.
Your flame .. even the small, steady one …is not in danger.

I am not asking you to roar right now.
I am asking you to remain.

ā€œYou are carrying fire … even while life is swinging.ā€

šŸ”„ Prayer

Father,

This prayer is for the battle-worn.
For the tired but still standing.
For those who feel like they’ve come to the end of themselves.
For the anxious hearts trying to hold it together one more day.

You are reissuing rest right nowĀ
not the kind that pulls us into isolation,
not the kind that makes us disappearĀ but Your rest.

The kind that restores.
The kind that warms.
The kind that keeps us present.

You said, ā€œTake My yoke upon you… My burden is easy and My load is light.ā€
So we lay down what was never meant for us to carry.

Father, re-stoke enduring fire in us.
Not flashy fire.
Not performative fire.
But a steady flame that never goes out.

Let our hearts stay soft.
Let our joy stay alive.
Let our fire stay warm.

Stay warm.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

šŸ”„ Declaration

I will not go cold.
The fire in me endures …steady, warm, and alive.
I choose to stay lit.

Before You Go…

If this resonated, I’d love to hear from you.
Leave a comment …even just a word.

And if you want to support what I’m doing (and help send me to Uganda),
take a look at the shirts in the shop,Ā they carry this same heart.

We stay warm together. šŸ”„

This right here!!! Felt every word. šŸ™Œ His rest sometimes helps us gather what we need to keep the fire burning!!! It allows us to get the tools for war sharpened and ready!!! His rest is HOLY not a punishment for the defeated ones!!! Lean into it šŸ™Œ
