III. God Really Cares About Your Everyday Work
We often act like God shows up for church services and mission trips…
But He has always moved in places like fields… boats… marketplaces… carpentry shops… government offices… homes… and normal daily life.
He loves the divine ordinary… the holy hidden spaces.
If God used fishermen… tentmakers… farmers… housewives… and government workers to transform nations… He can absolutely use you in your office… classroom… shop… or wherever your 9 to 5 takes you.
IV. How to Release the Flame in Your 9 to 5

1. Invite Him In Before You Walk In
It does not have to be an hour… it just has to be intentional.
Whisper on the drive… Holy Spirit… go before me today.
Play one worship song… pray in tongues while you are putting on mascara or fixing your hair… let Him into the moments you would normally rush through… put your heart before Him in the quiet…
He is not intimidated by your get ready routine… He will gladly meet you between the concealer and the contour 😂
2. Create a Little Sanctuary in the Middle of Your Workday
You can carry a sense of sanctuary with you… even while you are working.
Sometimes that looks like putting worship on softly while you create content… taking a few moments at your desk to breathe and acknowledge Him… keeping a verse or phrase where you can see it…
I absolutely jam to Forest Frank while I am creating content… just vibing out with Jesus while I type… plan… and design 😂 And somehow… it keeps my spirit soft… steady… and aware of Him.
I get visitors in my office often… people just popping in to sit… talk… or exhale for a minute… and honestly… it has to be that they are drawn to who He is… because I am really not that interesting of a person 🤣
That is the flame at work… He makes your space feel different.
3. Be Slow to React… Quick to Listen
People bring their storms to work… their stress… their home battles… their insecurity… their pressure…
But you bring the flame.
Pause before you answer… take a breath… ask Him quietly… How do You see this… what do You want to say?
Your tone carries more revival than your volume.
4. Be the Calm in the Room
Every workplace has chaos… shifts… changes… drama… tension… confusion… pressure.
The Holy Spirit in you is not overwhelmed… He is not anxious… He is not surprised.
When everyone else spirals… you get to stand.
Your steady presence is not boring… it is spiritual warfare. Stability… is ministry.
5. Pray for Your Coworkers
You do not have to be the “office prophet”… you just have to quietly carry His heart.
Pray under your breath as you walk the hall… pray in the bathroom stall… pray over desks when no one is looking…
Atmospheres shift when intercessors show up.
And sometimes… He will open the door for a conversation… a moment of vulnerability… a chance to say… “Can I pray with you?” He starts with your willingness.
6. Let Excellence Be Your Witness
Sometimes the loudest sermon in your workplace is you showing up on time… doing what you said you would do… owning your mistakes… being trustworthy… and honoring people even when they do not deserve it.
Excellence in your work says… I know Who I represent.
People notice flame carriers long before they ask what church you go to.

Joy in the workplace is not fluff… it is a weapon… a ministry… and a whole atmosphere shift.
I am intentional about staying lighthearted… smiling… and laughing with people often. Not in a pretend everything is fine way… but in a I refuse to let heaviness win today way.
I sprinkle it around like it is cheap… but in the Spirit it is costly and carries great impact.
Joy disarms tension… breaks heaviness… opens people’s hearts… and makes the room breathe again.
It is really hard for darkness to sit comfortably in a joyful environment.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do at work is simply laugh with someone who was moments away from breaking.
V. Your 9 to 5 Is Part of Your Calling
You may feel like what you do is small… hidden… not “churchy” enough…
But heaven reads it differently.
Workplaces are where hearts soften… character is shaped… compassion grows… leadership is refined… and light shines in real time.

Your workplace is a place where God wants to reveal Himself…
